Danladi Umar, chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), on Tuesday asked Senate President Bukola Saraki if he wanted water.
Saraki, who is facing charges of false asset declaration at the tribunal, was in the dock when Umar made the gesture.
CCT chairman: Do you want some water?
Saraki: No.
CCT chairman: You are okay?
Saraki: Nods in affirmation.
Since the resumption of Saraki’s trial, Umar has shown a kind disposition to the accused person.
Last Wednesday, he said the trial would not be from day to day, contrary to his decision in April 2016 that the case would go on daily.
Rotimi Jacobs, counsel to the federal government and prosecution, is at present examining Nwachukwu Amazu, a staff member of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), his second witness, at the tribunal.
