THE CHESS PLAYER CALLED PRESIDENT BUHARI

If you think you can predict and pre-empt President Muhammadu Buhari, please forget it. With his recent moves, it is obvious he is the master of the game. I wish to commend him on his Ministerial appointments and encourage him to ignore the harsh criticisms that greeted the portfolios assigned to some of the Ministers.

The most controversial is that of Mrs Kemi Adeosun and I totally disagree with those saying she lacks the experience or exposure to run the Finance Ministry. Leadership is about the ability to manage people and resources. It would have been impossible for Ronald Reagan and even Barack Obama to thrive in our clime with our type of attitude. Just imagine if David Cameron and Ed Milibands were Nigerians. Mrs Adeosun should not be distracted. Some of those clamouring for youth participation in governance should be proud of her towering achievements and meteoric rise.

What can I say about Mr Efficiency, Babatunde Raji Fashola? President Buhari has acknowledged brilliance and rewarded hard work.

It was learnt that the ministerial list, comprising 21 names, did not feature any of the nominees compiled by Tinubu for the South-West, which is regarded as his major sphere of influence.

Even in Lagos State, which is Tinubu’s exclusive preserve, he did not have the final say on who will represent the state in the cabinet. Rather than pick any of his nominees for the cabinet, Buhari did it alone and even selected Tinubu’s estranged godsons such as former Governors Babatunde Fashola (Lagos) and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti). Osinbajo, a protégé of Tinubu, also failed to get Lagos-based lawyer and human rights activist, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), on the list. Falana, from Ekiti State, was being tipped to emerge as the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

Mr President have proven to all and sundry that he is a good chess player, the jagaban has been cut to size using the template, as in chess, for every move there must be a counter move.
A new set of leaders are now being created in the south west zone to counter the stranglehold of Mr Tinubu in the west, while Adams Oshiomole and Amaechi take charge of South south and Ngige and Onu hold thier ground in the East. However, its not yet uhuru for the Sai Buhari group for you take Tinubu for granted; because i see a coming of Tinubu and Atiku.
Whatever the manipulation within the coat of many colour coalition as represented in the Apc we await the registration of the New CPC.
