Arsenal fan claims she smashed her TV after Messi penalty.

Kelly Sotherton, an Arsenal fan and Olympic medallist, smashed her plasma television just after Matthieu Flamini gifted Lionel Messi a penalty kick.
Arsenal’s hopes of reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in six years were all but blown away last night after a clinical brace from Lionel Messi.
The Gunners managed to keep the prolific trio of Messi, Suarez and Neymar away from the back of the net until the 71st minute of the game at Emirates stadium.
But the away side and European champions broke Arsenal’s defence via a cool Messi finish that left Petr cech with no chance.
And when a defensive mix-up between Per Mertesacker and Mathieu Flamini gave Messi the opportunity to put the tie to bed from the penalty spot, Sotherton finally broke her TV as her team broke her heart.

Sotherton tweeted what she did to her television just after the goal, with a friend corroborating her story.
Arsene Wenger, Arsenal’s manager, technically said his team was 95 percent out of the champions league.
“We put a lot of energy in the game, but I believe technically we were very average overall,” he said at the press briefing after the match.
“The regret I have is that once we look like we are dominating the game in the last 15-20 minutes we give the goal away.
“Similar to Monaco, naive, that is what is frustrating. When we looked like we could win this game we just gave it away. Barcelona is through at 95 percent certainly, but we want to go there and play.”
It was later discovered that the Sotherton may not have smashed her TV, with similar pictures of her feat all over the internet.
Sotherton is an English former heptathlete and 400m sprinter. She was the bronze medallist at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
