3 Girls abducted by Gunmen - Lagos School

Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary (BMJS) has confirmed the abduction of three girls from the school hostel on Monday night by armed men.
The school, located at Agunfoye-Ilegbusi Village, off Itokin-Ijebu Ode road, Ikorodu, Lagos, also confirmed to TheCable that Fatai Owoseni, the state police commissioner was at the school earlier on Tuesday, and promised to find the abductors.
The school warden said the girls were abducted last night, while policemen have been deployed to the school to keep watch over the school.
“I would advise you come, the police commissioner is here, he has addressed us, he has restored confidence. He is leaving his men behind to keep watch over the environment,” he said.
The missionary school, which was founded in October 1996, is affiliated to the Church of Nigeria and the Anglican communion, being founded by Joseph Abiodun Adetiloye, former primate of the Church.
The school prides itself as “a co-educational secondary institution of Lagos Anglican Dioceses and was named after Late Reverend Thomas Babington Macaulay who was the founder of C.M.S. Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos in 1859”.
The Lagos state police command confirmed the incident earlier, saying the assailants, suspected to be dislodged pipeline vandals, struck at about 8pm on Monday, gaining entry into the school by breaking the perimeter fence shielding the boarding students from surrounding bush.
“Yea, three female students were taken away by some criminals on Monday night but investigations are on to track then. At this moment, we cannot give you more information but you will be briefed as event unfolds,” TheNation quoted Dolapo Badmus, a superintendent of police and public relations officer of the police in the state, as saying.
