Trouble started when Senate President Bukola Saraki read a letter from Sen. Omogunwa informing his colleagues in the upper house of legislature that he had moved from the PDP to APC.
As the APC senators received Omogunwa in joy, Senate Minority Leader Godswill Akpabio of the PDP raised a point of order to correct what he called insinuations in the letter that PDP is divided.
APC senator Dino Melaye tried to raise a point of order but the senate president ruled him out of order, and so the heavy argument continued until PDP senators stood up and walked out of the chambers.
The house returned to plenary with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of Labour Party assuming the position of the Minority Leader.
Meanwhile, the Senate yesterday approved President Buhari’s virement of funds to the tune of N213billion even though deputy senate president Ike Ekweremadu accused the president of using a military-style of approach rather the democratic and constitutional way.
