Barely 24 hours after Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa officially declared his intention to seek re-election on Tuesday, his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Fyneman Wilson, has been kidnapped.
Mr. Wilson was abducted in the early hours of Wednesday in Sagbama Local Government Area, Gov. Dickson’s hone town.
Asinim Butswat, Police Public Relations Officer for Bayelsa Command, confirmed the report, but said details were still “sketchy” and pledged to provide details as soon as they were available.
Several abductions have occurred within the past few weeks in Bayelsa state, including the kidnap of three local chiefs who are still held by their abductors.
