Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque, Madinah, Saudi ArabiaSheikh Salah Bin Muhammad Al-Budair is expected to arrive Abuja tomorrow, August 3.
Daily Trust reports that the highly respected Muslim Cleric is to spend three days on his august visit.
During the visit, Al-Budair, considered one of the best Qur’anic reciters in the world, will lead the Juma’a Prayers at the National Mosque Abuja on Friday, August 5, 2016.
The imam is also scheduled to lead Magrib and Isha’i Prayers at the National Mosque on Wednesday, August 3 and Fajr on Thursday, August 4.
A member of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the visit and Amir of 1Ummah, Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad, said Sheikh Salah Bin Muhammad Al-Budair will interact with Nigerians at the proposed locations.
Al-Budair’s visit comes at a time when there rumours, speculations and minor agitations that there is a subtle plot to turn Nigeria into an Islamic nation.

Just recently, the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has blamed President Muhammadu Buhari for making Nigeria an Islamic country.
The group claimed that Minister of Interior Abdulrahman Dambazau breached the Nigerian Constitution by taking by taking orders from a private religious leader – the Sultan of Sokoto in extending a national holiday to mark the Eid-el-Fitr from two to three days.
Daily Post reports that HURIWA also slammed the Nigerian government for creating doubt and causing commotion to the businesses and the private sector by the one-sided and unprepared announcement of one more day to mark the end of the Ramadan fasting.
The rights group in a statement stated that the Nigerian Constitution clearly provided in section 10 that no special religion should be elevated to a status of a state religion.
